These game developers are hiring software engineers to six-figure salaries in Canada

To develop good video games, these companies are hiring software engineers at generous salaries.

Developing a video game requires years of work from dozens to thousands of people. That work was recognized at The Game Awards on Thursday, where developers took home awards for being best in their genres, innovating gaming accessibility, and the Game of the Year.

It has been a great year for video games, and many companies are hiring software engineers in Canada to make the next gaming innovations possible. Check out all the organizations recruiting at Jobs.BetaKit for more opportunities.

Electronic Arts

Electronic Arts (EA) publishes AAA video games spanning multiple genres, with its live-service first-person shooter game Apex Legends receiving a nomination for Best Ongoing game at The Game Awards.

EA is hiring a gameplay software engineer for one of its EA Sports titles. Hired candidates will report to the senior engineer and work with a team to deliver the gameplay features envisioned by producers and designers.

Applicants are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field alongside a proficiency in C++ and artificial intelligence implementation. EA notes that applicants do not need to qualify for all requirements to be considered.

The role is either based out of EA’s Victoria or Vancouver office and comes with a salary range of $93,700 CAD to $153,900 CAD per year.
