BrainStation, a technology skills school with five locations in North America, has expanded and updated its remote learning platform, making it more available to West Coast and Atlantic-based students.

Online Live is an instructor-led data training platform that allows students to attend live lectures, collaborate with other professionals, and get immediate feedback from expert instructors. The latest version of the platform aims to improve its intuitiveness and encourage real-time collaboration and feedback for students. Its live, instructor-led digital skills training is now also available for students in Pacific and Atlantic Standard time.
“Online Live was first introduced on the East Coast, with world-class instructors broadcasting industry-leading content out of our learning studios,” said Jason Field, BrainStation’s founder and CEO. “Since then, it has resulted in more than 100,000 hours of live learning for thousands of professionals across 50 cities and 27 states, provinces, and territories.”
The platform was launched last May, after the school worked with over 250 industry leaders and trained over 50,000 professionals for the development of the platform. It is powered by Synapse, a learning management system that allows students to attend live lectures, interact with instructors and peers in real-time, and access additional training materials remotely. Synapse allows BrainStation to track and measure students’ learning comprehension and progress, as well as customize and enhance the student learning experience.
The remote learning platform offers many of BrainStation’s in-person, campus courses, including data science, machine learning, user experience design, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, among others, offered on either a part-time or full-time basis.

BrainStation, founded in 2012 in Toronto, works with over 350 instructors to create its digital education courses, educating more than 70,000 professionals. In 2014, the school was acquired by Toronto-based Konrad Group. The company opened its Vancouver campus in 2017, bringing its corporate training, diploma programs, certificate courses, industry-leading events to the city. Its other campuses include Toronto,New York, Chicago, and Boston.
