After announcing it was accepting applications for its annual Vision to Reality awards celebrating entrepreneurship, PwC has released the names of its finalists for the 2016 Innovator of the Year awards — and the list includes a few recognizable startup names.
The Innovator of the Year awards are split into three groups. The disruptor category looks at innovative companies with under $25 million in revenue with significant user and revenue growth; the builder category looks at $25 million to $50 million companies with high engagement metrics; and the visionary, which has $500 million in revenue, improved operational efficiencies, and significant revenue growth. All companies must be Canadian-controlled or headquartered in Canada.
“The 2016 Vision to Reality Awards program recognizes innovation across the Canadian business landscape, from startups to well-established brands—awarding Innovator of the Year in three categories to companies that have demonstrated exciting potential, notable growth or reset the bar for their entire industry,” the company said in a statement on its website.
