It’s auspicious timing that BetaKit would launch a retail-focused newsletter the week that Lightspeed closes a $207 million Series D round. Suddenly, retail tech in Canada is hot again.

But Lightspeed is a point-of-sale solution. What about e-commerce plays like Shopify, bricks and clicks amalgams like Frank And Oak, food-focused services like Ritual, CPG enablers like Sampler, and all those other Canadian startups supporting traditional retailers (e.g., MappedIn, Nudge Rewards, Hubba) or digital-focused businesses (Vantage, Abacus, etc)? BetaKit’s newsletter will have all of that, too. It will have everything related to the new tech moving goods and services around the world, because modern retail is everywhere and always on.
