Twitter Canada finally has a new boss.

Rory Capern, who is currently head of partnerships at Google Canada, will join the company in mid-February to take over as general manager of Twitter Canada.

Twitter’s northern outpost has been without an in-country leader since its previous general manager, Kirstine Stewart, was promoted to vice-president of North American media in September 2014. The hiring was announced today via the company’s own social media platform.

According to The Globe and Mail, prior to joining Google Canada, Capern previously held roles at Microsoft Canada, Bell Canada, Torstar Digital and Lavalife.
