Real Ventures announced today that it has added Canadian entrepreneur Marcel LeBrun as a venture partner.
Co-founder of iMagicTV and Radian6, LeBrun was most recently SVP & GM of Marketing Cloud at Salesforce, following the company’s acquisition of Radian6 in 2011.
“He is an amazing human being and successful entrepreneur who took a company public, built one of the most successful Saas companies in Canada and then built and ran one of Salesforce’s fastest growing divisions,” said Real Ventures founding partner, JS Cournoyer. “He has the experience and mindset to guide mission-driven entrepreneurs on their journey to success and we are grateful to have him on board.”
Tasked with sourcing deals for Real across Canada, LeBrun will remain in Fredericton, New Brunswick, where the founder also mentors and teaches entrepreneurship at the University of New Brunswick.
“I’ve loved building companies in the past and I can bring a lot of my experience to help new companies break through,” LeBrun said. “I’ve been involved in the tech ecosystem in both Canada and globally for a while and I’ve been able to go against the idea that you have to be in a certain place to build a globally-successful tech company. I hope that I can bring increased attention to the quality of companies across the country and help wherever the need is.”
In addition to its new venture partner, Real recently added two new entrepreneurs in residence in New York City and Toronto.
