Toronto-based League and the Vector Institute have partnered to offer resources in an effort to accelerate the development of machine learning and employee healthcare.
The two organizations will work together to offer on technical and strategic AI training and talent resourcing, both of which will be applied to League’s Healthcare Benefits Experience (HBX) platform. The result is to improve the personalized health recommendations and health plans League supplies to its members. Both organizations are hoping the partnership will provide them with access to the talent and knowledge they need to scale and commercialize various AI solutions.

Using AI, machine learning, and other predictive techniques, League is creating fully personalized health recommendations and health plans for each member. League’s HBX platform allows employers, including Unilever, Uber, Shopify, and Lush Cosmetics, to offer personalized health recommendations to support employees’ health and wellness through a single access hub.
HBX aims to eliminate persistent issues associated with benefits by giving employees a centralized experience that aligns with their expectations for digital services, helping companies revolutionize their employee experience and turn health benefits into a competitive advantage.
League said its technology teams are currently working toward improving health benefits. The primary aspects of this work include creating health and benefits strategies, improving education around its programs, and using AI, machine learning, and other predictive techniques to create a more personalized health benefits experience.
