Four-time founder Daniel Warner is helping to launch a new tech event, Founders Assemble Summit, meant to help startups navigate the challenging market conditions.
Taking place later this month, the two-day virtual event will bring together 15 top founders, investors, psychologists, and other Canadian tech leaders to provide guidance for early-stage startups on how to “navigate these challenging times.”
The idea to organize the event came about after speaking to Canadian founders following the Silicon Valley Bank collapse.
Among the group of speakers include Janet Bannister of Staircase Ventures, Chris Neumann of Panache Ventures, and Michele Romanow of Clearco.
Warner said the idea to organize the event came about after speaking to Canadian founders following the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapse, and realizing the need for a founder health initiative to help them succeed through the current market conditions.
The two-day summit will cover “the founder mindset” on day one and “the founder journey” on day two. Part of the proceeds from the event will support the #Tech4SickKids program and pediatric mental health support at SickKids.
Entrepreneurs who attend will be given the opportunity to collaborate with a network of fellow entrepreneurs, learn tools to adapt in tough times, and work with industry professionals to grow tools for their business.
In addition to learning business skills, attendees will gain insights on health and well-being from healthcare professionals like Dr. Brett Belchetz and Dr. Rachel Toledano. Entrepreneur mental health is an important and often under-discussed topic. Founders Assemble Summit looks to move forward a conversation that has become more prevelant as the rocky tech market continues.
Warner has previously founded four startups, namely KixCare, MyRemoteClinic, MediSeen and Sanitizements Media. He is also an alumni chair of Schulich Startups and a MaRS startup advisor.
