Former Alphabet executive chairman Eric Schmidt confirmed as speaker at Elevate

Eric Schmidt

Former Google and Alphabet executive chairman Eric Schmidt has been confirmed as a speaker for Elevate 2018.

In April 2018, Elevate announced that former US vice president Al Gore would be speaking at the event. Following Gore’s talk on the transformative change of global technology, Schmidt will sit with Gore for a fireside chat.

“Eric Schmidt is one of the most influential tech executives in history,” said Razor Suleman, co-founder and CEO of Elevate. “Over 17 years, he helped fuel explosive growth as CEO and executive chairman at Google, and then executive chairman at Alphabet. We’re thrilled to have him join our speaker lineup for Elevate 2018.”

Taking place between September 21 to 27, Elevate Techfest said it expects between 10,000 guests, 300 speakers, and 250 venues for this year’s city-wide festival in Toronto. The organization is also partnering with the National Angel Capital Organization to bring the World Angel Investment Summit into the festival.

In addition to Schmidt, GV partner Lo Toney, Clearbanc co-founder Michele Romanow, and NEXT Canada CEO Sheldon Levy were confirmed as speakers at the event.

The fireside chat will take place on the Main Stage on September 25.
