CBC’s Dragons’ Den has announced a new Canada-wide tour in search of promising startups to come pitch on their show.
Entrepreneurs have a chance to elevator pitch their business to the producers of the show in 5 minutes or less. Successful pitches may be invited to Toronto to face the Dragons head-on for a chance to receive monetary investment from the Dragons themselves. Current Dragons include Arlene Dickinson, Jim Treliving, Lane Merrifield, Manjit Minhas, Vincenzo Guzzo, and Michele Romanow.

Producers recommended that participants make the pitch as clear and concise as possible. They stated that applicants who can’t explain what their business does in a minute, might be too complicated for the show. Entrepreneurs are also recommended pitch that are as entertaining as possible, in order to capture the attention of the Dragons and potential audiences.
Businesses at any stage of development are free to apply. If startups can’t make it out to the in-person audition date, startups can also fill out an online application. However, according to the show, chances of being picked to appear on the show increase when entrepreneurs apply in-person.
