Dentons has announced the launch of an automated seed financing document generator.

The tool, which can be accessed through the Dentons ventureBeyond website, was built by the firm’s Canadian Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies group. The Canadian Seed Preferred Document Package is currently used by startups and investors across the country to make the seed financing process easier.

Dentons launched its ventureBeyond resource in 2016 to help startups with issues like immigration basics, the problems with joint ownership of IPs, and patent strategies.

Through this automated service, startups and investors can create term sheets, subscription agreements, shareholders agreements, and share terms for free by completing a questionnaire online. The goal behind this tool is to streamline the drafting process and to allow the startup community to incorporate automation into the legal process.

“At Dentons, we are embracing technology and innovation to develop new and better ways to address our clients’ needs,” said Beth Wilson, CEO at Dentons. “This new offering is another way we are reshaping and redefining the legal industry.”

The firm recently won the “International Law Firm Innovation” category at the Legal Week Innovation Awards and received two awards at the Law Society Excellence Awards.  Marie Bernard, Europe Director of Innovation at Dentons and Strategic Advisor to Nextlaw Labs, was included in the Fastcase 50 as one of the world’s leading innovators in law.
