Black Swan #2 – Performing layoffs in a pandemic

BetaKit podcast

For two weeks, Canadian tech companies have been on pins and needles waiting for a support package from the federal government. If yesterday’s news was any indication, they’re going to be waiting for a while longer. Which means senior leaders across the country face tough decisions, and employees are worried about their jobs.

“The next time they interview for a job they’re going to ask the company how they dealt with their employees during COVID.”

Nora Jenkins Townson, founder of Bright + Early, joins to discuss the human side of business decisions, living your company’s values, and how not to end up in BetaKit for the wrong reasons.
