I’ve just had an incredible week.
Last week, BetaKit launched the 2026 edition of BetaKit Most Ambitious, which tells stories of nearly 100 innovators strengthening Canadian sovereignty.
“Everywhere I go, BetaKit is there. They grill me. Every time I say something, I say: ‘I wish I didn’t say that’ because BetaKit recorded it.”
We launched this 80-page behemoth on the same day we hosted over 500 Canadian tech leaders for conversations about our nation’s autonomy, security, and prosperity at Most Ambitious: Town Hall to kick off Toronto Tech Week.
That’s what you’re going to see and hear today: select Town Hall cuts recorded live at the iconic TIFF Lightbox.
We’ve got our Vantage Points panel on Canadian defence and dual-use tech featuring Eliot Pence (Dominion Dynamics), Kath Intson (Sentinel R&D), and Christian Weedbrook (Xanudu). Then we’ve got AI Minister Evan Solomon talking about the forthcoming AI strategy and why he’s more concerned about creating Canadian unicorns than monopolies.
But first, you’ve got me sharing a bit more info about BetaKit Most Ambitious, why we did it, and what’s in it.
Canada’s moment to build is now, so let’s dig in.
The BetaKit Podcast is presented by BetaKit Most Ambitious.
Amid global uncertainty, the path forward is clear: Canada’s moment to build is now.
Presented by Uber Canada, DMZ, and National Bank of Canada, BetaKit Most Ambitious is back, telling stories of nearly 100 Canadian innovators strengthening our nation’s autonomy, security, and prosperity.
