Techstars and WeWork partner to connect entrepreneurs

WeWork Toronto

Techstars alumni will now get a discount on WeWork office spaces as part of a new partnership between the two organizations. For its part, the global accelerator program will offer classes at WeWork’s locations in Toronto, Boston, Kansas City and New York City. Techstars Startup Week and Techstars Startup Weekend organizers will now have the opportunity to use WeWork locations at a discount as well. According to the companies, this deal will create new opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate.

“WeWork sees our spaces as the pipes through which we can provide our members with a creative, collaborative community programming that touches all aspects of our members’ lives…training, development, culture, art, music,” said Artie Minson, WeWork CFO. “Not to mention other touch points outside of our immediate member community like our Airbnb partnership, the Creator Awards, Rise by We (our wellness offering), the Mailroom at WeLive, etc…”

The partnership will also provide Techstars alumni with access to WeWork’s 150,000 digital members and over 170 WeWork locations across 56 cities and 17 countries.  As the global accelerator program responsible for companies like ClassPass, Sphero and Digital Ocean, Techstars hopes to empower creators and entrepreneurs by working with communities.

This news comes a few days after WeWork announced the acquisition of Flatiron School.

Techstars alumni can reach out to local WeWork representatives for details on workspace discounts.
