500 Startups announces 500 Mobile Collective, a new venture fund specifically focused on mobile

A new fund called 500 Mobile Collective — or 500 MC — was unveiled today by Silicon Valley-based powerhouse accelerator 500 Startups. The $10 million (USD) “micro-fund” is solely focused on the explosion of mobile and will be managed Edith Yeung.

500 MC is open worldwide and it will invest mobile founders, mobile apps, and mobile startups. On the company blog, 500 Mobile Collective stated they “will use their various superpowers and dark arts to help startup founders with access to mobile OEMs and carriers and help them with advice on mobile-focused distribution, monetization, commerce and payments.”

Yeung, who led the marketing efforts at Dolphin Browser and co-founder of RightVentures, will also be joined by Greg Kidd, Jay Sullivan, Yongzhi Yang and Joe Wu as its advisors.
