The Herjavec Group acquires Toronto-based Sentry Metrics

The Herjavec Group — the company started by former Dragon and current investor on ABC’s Shark Tank, is Canada’s largest IT security provider. The Toronto-based company is in its second year of its 3-year $250 million expansion plan and announced the acquisition of Sentry Metrics.

Sentry Metrics is also located in Toronto and also provides managed security services with revenues over $7.5 million. Sentry has 50 security professionals that will be joining THG’s current 225 employees in Canada and the US. This acquisition of Sentry Metrics grows The Herjavec Group to $140 million in sales.

Sentry Metrics CEO Dave Millier will stay on board and lead Uzado, which is the new name of Sentry Metrics’ proprietary software. Sentry Metrics CEO Dave Millier said, “Our customers across North America are in good hands given THG’s security expertise and personalized service approach. While I am extremely proud of the company we have built, I know The Herjavec Group will take Sentry Metrics’ customers to the next level”.

“The recent string of headlines involving targeted hacks and data breaches has made cybercrime a focus at the executive and board of director level,” says Herjavec. “As demand for third party security firms increases at an unprecedented rate, The Herjavec Group has expanded to become one of the largest independent managed service providers in North America”.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
