Six cleantech companies graduating from Energia Ventures accelerator

Fredericton-based Energia Ventures is set to showcase its 2018 cohort of cleantech companies by allowing them to pitch their businesses to the public at its annual Demo Day on today.

Attendees at the Demo Day will include energy industry leaders, investors, and partner companies from the region.

The companies graduating from the 2018 Energia Ventures cohort are:

“Energia Ventures was able to provide our company with the appropriate environment to narrow down our value proposition, helped us refine our investor pitch, and connected us with most of the players in the Atlantic energy and startup space,” said Autonom CEO Hugues Marceau, whose company is developing the next generation of universal power supplies for the telecoms industry. “The mentor sessions provided me with valuable insights on how to become a better entrepreneur, and I especially benefitted from the sales training at this point of my venture.”

Over the past 12 weeks, the Energia Ventures cohort have had the opportunity to work with mentors and industry experts like NB Power President and CEO Gaëtan Thomas, competitive intelligence leader Dr. Jonathan Calof, and sales expert Wendy Vrooman. The cohort also had the opportunity to attend trade events such as Invest Atlantic and the Energy Innovations Forum, and participate in a trip to the Boston area in order to develop New England contacts and benefit from the knowledge of Energia Ventures’ Massachusetts partners.

“We are incredibly proud of this year’s cohort, who are a very promising group of companies. They have worked tirelessly in order to put their companies in the best possible position to continue to grow and make a significant impact in the market,” said Energia Ventures managing director Joe Allen. “We believe that Fredericton is an ideal location to build and refine a startup, and are excited to be supporting the next wave of entrepreneurs with the help of our fantastic community of entrepreneurs and industry experts.”
