Shopify now allowing merchants to sell products through Facebook Messenger

Shopify

After already launching the ability to communicate with customers through Facebook Messenger, Shopify has followed up with a new merchant system that allows products to be sold directly within Facebook’s service.

This new integration gives customers a “Shop Now” option when starting a conversation with any Facebook Business Page via Shopify’s Messenger Sales section. This launches the store’s product page and allows users to browse and purchase items, though transactions are still completed through Shopify’s Facebook Messenger checkout portal.

Shopify’s new messenger sales channel is free to add for all merchants in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

On October 3rd, Facebook launched Marketplace, which allows users to begin the process of making a purchase through direct message.
