The show will be featuring Desjardins’ GoodSpark Program, an initiative to support social ventures.

The show will be featuring Desjardins’ GoodSpark Program, an initiative to support social ventures. Dragons’ Den is looking for entrepreneurs whose idea or business will impact young Canadians up to 30 years-of-age. The program is looking for ventures that address one of four key areas: education, employment and entrepreneurship, healthy living, and social engagement.

Successful applicants to GoodSpark are eligible to receive monetary or in-kind investments from Desjardins. A selection of applicants may also be chosen to appear on Dragons’ Den in the fall for the chance to secure additional investments from the Dragons.

Dragons’ Den announced the dates of its auditions tour for its newest season Last month. In-person audition sessions are taking place across Canada throughout March. Entrepreneurs are able to apply online, if unable to attend the auditions, but the show noted that preference may be given to those applying in person.

Dragons’ Den is open to people of all ages, and those choosing to audition should prepare to pitch their business idea to the Dragons’ Den producers in five minutes or less. The show recommended that applicants make their pitches as clear, concise, and entertaining as possible. Successful pitches will be invited to Toronto to face the Dragons. Filming takes place in Toronto around May 2019.

The current Dragons include Arlene Dickinson, Jim Treliving, Manjit Minhas, and Michele Romanow. Last May, it was announced that Lane Merrifield and Vincenzo Guzzo were also joining the team as Dragons.
