Collision has reached maximum exhibition floor capacity for this year’s conference, being held in Toronto’s Enercare Centre from May 20 to 23.

The size of Collision’s now sold-out floor space is expected to be seven times larger than Collison 2018, held in New Orleans last year. The size of the space has also surpassed its European flagship event, Web Summit, according to event coordinators.

“Canada is having a moment and we can see this with the level of interest for this year’s Collision and its first year since moving it out of the United States,” said Paddy Cosgrave, founder and CEO of Web Summit. “The Collision floor has exceeded all expectations, and our incredible line-up of speakers and new stages have us all very excited for this coming May and for the remaining years in Toronto.”

This year’s Collision is also bringing more than twice as many speakers, startups, and investors compared to last year’s conference. To be clear, tickets for Collision are still on sale, but startups, exhibitors, partners, and broadcasters can no longer apply.

This year’s line-up includes a variety of speakers, from Sidewalk Labs’ Dan Doctoroff and Shopify’s Tobias Lütke, to Toronto Mayor John Tory, and actors like Seth Rogen. The conference will host six new tracks this year, covering topics like corporate innovation, FinTech, and healthtech, among others. Canadian companies such as RBC, Interac, and Shopify will also have a presence on the conference floor.

Other highlights of the event include PandaConf, which is looking at the future of marketing for global companies and startups alike, a FullSTK track for developers with a session on the state of DevOps, a planet tech track on “breakfast for a better world”, and as part of MoneyConf, a fireside chat with Akon on his cryptocurrency Akion.

Collision is partnering with the City of Toronto to attract international talent by hosting the StartUp HERE Innovation Showcase. The conference, which takes place May 20 to 23, has also more than attracted 100 inbound trade missions looking to explore Canada’s innovation ecosystem.
