PwC Canada announced the list of finalists for its Vision to Reality (V2R): Innovator of the Year Awards.
The V2R Awards is the organization’s annual awards celebrating Canadian entrepreneurship. The awards fall into three categories: the disruptor, which recognizes companies with under $25 million in revenue; the builder category, for companies with $25 million to $50 million in revenue; and the visionary category, for companies with $500 million in revenue.
“The applications we received this year represent a real cross section of Canadian organizations and the very best innovators. Each finalist demonstrates in their own unique way how innovation can accelerate an organization to the top of its game,” said Tahir Ayub, managing partner of markets and industries at PwC Canada. “We are thrilled that this program gives applicants an opportunity for Canada-wide recognition, networking opportunities and exposure to entrepreneurs, CEOs, and other industry leaders. These fearless leaders are reshaping the landscape of Canadian business.”
When PwC Canada was looking for nominations, PwC national leader of digital services consulting practice Phil Grosch told BetaKit that while the awards initially launched as a way to recognize the startup community, it has since evolved as a way to include companies at every stage of their evolution.
“Large communities are harnessing the power of entrepreneurship, and we see them making investments in startup incubators and investing and teaming with startups. We also find that in the mid-sized market of Canada, which is a huge segment of the population, a lot of innovation and disruption is taking place,” Grosch said.
The 2017 award category winners will be revealed at an awards celebration on Thursday, June 1 in Toronto.
