Auvik acquires international SaaS firms Saaslio, Boardgent

The acquisitions follow Auvik securing $312 million from majority shareholder Great Hill Partners.

Waterloo-based network management software company Auvik has announced the acquisitions of two international SaaS firms, Saaslio and Boardgent.

When Great Hill Partners acquired a majority stake in Auvik last year, Auvik told BetaKit that it had plans to increase its acquisition activity with the $312 million CAD it secured as part of the deal.

Auvik is hiring for over 30 open roles to achieve its product and go-to-market aspirations.

United States company Saaslio and Colombia-headquartered Boardgent represent Auvik’s most recent acquisitions. In April, Auvik also acquired Idaho-based Wi-Fi tools provider MetaGeek. Auvik declined to disclose the financial terms of these deals, however it noted that the deal with Saaslio closed in October while its transaction with Boardgent was completed in August.

Established in 2011 by co-founders Marc Morin, Alex Hoff, and David Yach, Auvik’s software provides IT teams and managed service providers insight into client networks as well as visibility and control over network infrastructures like switches, routers, and firewalls. Its platform also automates tasks associated with monitoring.

Alex Hoff, founder and CPO of Auvik, told BetaKit that the company’s goal with these recent acquisitions is to give IT teams and managed service providers the tools they need to ensure end-users can continue to work, collaborate, and be productive remotely.

Both Saaslio and Boardgent will become part of Auvik, and Auvik will continue to support their existing customers through the end of their agreements. Auvik further said that Saaslio and Boardgent’s employees will be joining different departments throughout the company, but are focused in the product and engineering divisions of the organization.

Founded in 2020, Saaslio offers SaaS discovery, management, and shadow IT alerting solutions for managed service providers. Per Crunchbase data, Saaslio raised $430,000 in pre-seed funding in August.

Boardgent, which was incorporated in 2019, provides a platform that allows IT teams to remotely support end-users and manage endpoints through a web-based interface. According to Crunchbase, the startup secured an undisclosed amount of seed capital from Chile Ventures in December.

Auvik also said that Saaslio and Boardgent are part of its plans to expand its capabilities. Saaslio will provide a centralized tool to discover, manage and protect all SaaS applications where organizational data is stored. Boardgent will allow IT workers to resolve any network-centric end-user issues.

Before Auvik secured the $312 million from Great Hill, the company had raised just over $50 million CAD from investors Rho Canada Ventures, Celtic House Venture Partners, and BDC Capital, among others.

Currently, Auvik is hiring for over 30 open roles to achieve its product and go-to-market aspirations. The company has more than 230 employees worldwide with about 2,000 active customers.
