Ada, 1Password, and Scotia Digital are all looking to hire engineers right now

Engineers are still in demand despite the downturn.

Despite the ongoing tech downturn, Canadian companies continue to hire. The three companies listed below are all looking for a variety of engineering talent, including for senior roles. Check out all of the organizations recruiting at Jobs.BetaKit for more opportunities.

Ada

Ada is an AI-powered platform that streamlines brand interactions between businesses and their customers and staff, resulting in cost savings and increased revenue. Founded in 2016, the company has first-hand expertise with customer service issues, and works with companies such as Zoom, Facebook, and Shopify. In May 2021, the firm received $130 million in Series C funding from Spark Capital, making it a Canadian unicorn.

Ada currently has a number of roles open for engineering talent, including software engineers to join its Voice team. The company is also looking to hire senior product designers that have experience working with AI or ML-based projects.

1Password

1Password is a password management tool built for both individuals and businesses to create and store strong passwords, private notes, financial information, and more in one platform that is available both on desktop and mobile. They believe in human-centric security, and being human-centric is also a core part of their culture. Earlier this year, 1Password raised a $$744.3 million CAD Series C.

1Password is on the hunt for a number of senior roles, including VP of product engineering and data engineering and build and release managers. 1Password is also looking to hire senior product managers for developer tools and product-led growth.

Scotia Digital

With almost 100 roles available, Scotiabank has an opportunity for various fields and levels of expertise. The bank provides a broad range of advice, products and services, including personal and commercial banking, wealth management and private banking, corporate and investment banking, and capital markets.

Scotia Digital is looking for a number of senior engineers, including senior cloud engineers and senior lead crypto security engineers. The digital team of Scotiabank is also looking for a platform engineer to help design, develop, deploy, and support one of the largest, cutting-edge Identity and Access Management (IAM) services in Canada. The ideal candidate has seven or more years of developer experience and has a keen interest in authentication.
