Ryerson University announced yesterday that Magnet, the university’s not-for-profit social innovation incubator which addresses employment and economic development in Canada, received the International Partnerships Network (IPN) Gold Global Best Award.
Magnet, which uses data-driven and job-matching technology to connect job seekers with employers based on skills and talent needs, was selected by a panel of international judges at a conference held in Oslo, Norway.
The Gold Global Best Awards, which are supported by the Conference Board of Canada and the International Education Business Partnerships Network, are focused on recognizing strong and effective partnerships between educational institutions, private businesses and other stakeholders that are working to improve employability.
“We are thrilled and honoured to receive this award because it acknowledges the strength of our partnerships, which are critical to the success of Magnet,” said Mark Patterson, the executive director of Magnet. “We greatly value our partners and plan to continue building linkages that help combat unemployment and underemployment in Canada.”
