This week, Startup Grind is hosting an event with Instacart co-founder Max Mullen.
Taking place at Startwell in Toronto, Mullen will speak to the challenges of building a $4.35 billion business. To date, Instacart serves 15,000 stores in the US and Canada, and is available in more than 4,000 cities.
Its most recent Canadian partnership was with Walmart, which sees the San Francisco-based startup powering same day delivery in Toronto and Ontario.
In January, Instacart acquired Toronto-based Unata to build more online grocery store solutions.
“Instacart’s presence will be our first event with an entrepreneur from another country,” said Sharn Kandola, director of Startup Grind Toronto. “In a relatively short time, Instacart has grown to become a company valued at $2 Billion USD. We are very grateful that Max will be joining us to share his story; what motivates him to keep going, what challenges he and his co-founder have faced in their journey and what’s next for Instacart.”
Startup Grind’s global community hosts events in over 450 cities, with the goal of connecting local entrepreneurs. BetaKit readers can get $10 tickets using the code BETAKIT10. Grab them here.
