On October 14, Startup Canada is launching its #EveryEntrepreneur Tour, where entrepreneurs can find mentors, support, and opportunities across Canada’s major cities.
Kicking off the tour in Halifax and ending in Toronto on December 14, each day includes an “unconference” where entrepreneurs can hear the stories of other successful business owners, including Second Cup co-founder Frank O’Dea and Moxie Trades CEO Marissa McTasney. Bootcamp-style training sessions on finance, scaling, marketing, and going global will also be available. There will also be experts for one-on-one mentorship and support, and organizations that provide training, funding, and other opportunities to entrepreneurs will be available to connect entrepreneurs to a wider support network.
“We want every entrepreneur in Canada to connect with the resources, networks, training, customer connections, and strong entrepreneurship communities that will help take their businesses to the next level,” said Victoria Lennox, CEO and co-founder of Startup Canada. “Our goal is to help every entrepreneur scale the pinnacles reached by such great Canadian entrepreneurs as Arlene Dickinson, Ryan Holmes, and Jeff Skoll. Supporting new high-growth businesses is the best way to create jobs and a better future for all of Canada.”
Each stop will wrap up with a Startup Launch Party, which will bring together startups, investors, supporters, corporations, government and media to celebrate local entrepreneurship and innovation.
Following the event, entrepreneurs will be invited to celebrate the country’s entrepreneurs at the Startup Canada Regional Award Ceremonies. Regional winners in each of the nine Startup Canada Awards categories will participate in on-stage panels discussing ways to advance entrepreneurship locally and across Canada.
