VeloCity Venture Fund Finals and Demo Day are happening on July 25th

Over $100,000 is on the table for a select few start-ups who’ll be pitching their ideas during the Spring 2013 VeloCity Venture Fund Finals. This is taking place on July 25th at 1pm in Waterloo and consists of 10 eager businesses:

Blacktree, HealthGoPexoKiteLibertyBitPlanleafRedroSesameIOSoundBrushTessoll and Wriber.

All of these start-ups span different focusses – health, music, time management, vacations, email – and the grand prize will be divided up into four winners who’ll each receive $25,000. The judges are Cameron Hay, Karam Nijjar and Mike Stork.

In addition, there’s also another $3k up for grabs, specifically reserved for University of Waterloo students. Demo Day starts at 11:00am and the students will show their work for the chance to win one of three $1,000 prizes. The companies that made the list are Closet Explorer, Flow, StudyMe, tl;dr, Diggos, Neverfrost and Shocklock.
