Robots, and IPOs, and AI, Oh My! 2026 poses many tech questions.

If our last episode of 2025 was about the biggest stories of that year, our first episode of 2026 is about the open questions for this year.

You know, the tech developments we’re pondering (and perhaps lowkey predicting) might happen throughout 2026.

“Maybe we will see the robots that we want in our lives in 2026. But be prepared: they will definitely be controlled by people in India with Xbox controllers.”

To help me ask, ‘Is this a thing?’ I could think of no one better than BetaKit’s new managing editor, Sarah Rieger.

We’ll also spend some time evaluating which of our biggest tech questions of 2025 had definitive answers (in a surprising twist, many of them did!) and promoting BetaKit’s wonderful year-end series on the defining Canadian tech stories of 2025.

But that’s all just some useful preamble for the main event. What are BetaKit’s biggest tech questions of 2026?
