Right now, Financeit is hiring a VP of Risk. We talked to HR manager Jane Kim about the best parts of working there.
If someone were to come in to work for Financeit on their first day, what’s the first thing you tell them to get them excited to working there?
You are going to part of something big – the things you do here will have an obvious impact and will help take Financeit to the next level. Your ideas will be heard by the right people and considered.
What are some company perks that people can expect when working at Financeit?
-
Team lunches and free snacks. Ping pong table and video games (including DDR so you can practice your dancing skills).
Yoga, massages in the office, and a fitness program
Cool interest groups like running, gaming, and health.
When working as part of the risk team, what kind of problems could a VP of Risk expect to tackle? What makes the team so dynamic?
Our technology is what sets us apart. Leading POS software with a SaaS element allows us to not only remain competitive in the market, but also maintain our edge as we own our entire stack. Our team can quickly turn a new strategy into reality and we have the ability to integrate with any data source to enhance our credit models.
The right candidate would bring a new level of sophistication to our risk strategies and have deep experience building models and working with data. The risk team is looking for someone who will lead the development of proprietary credit models for both our merchant and consumer strategies.
In what ways do you help to foster personal and/or professional growth in your team?
We provide opportunities to take professional development courses, participate in associations, conferences, and workshops. We also have ongoing dialogue with managers in developing a career roadmap, and at our company, there’s empowerment by your manager to pitch your ideas and run with them.
What’s your favourite part about working at Financeit?
Our culture. We value and uphold transparency, open communication and innovation. We’re a tight knit group that likes to have fun. We care about the company and each other!
