With startups leading the way in Canadian innovation, every day, BetaKit does its part to help fill the talent gap with our BetaKit Job Board.

To highlight some of the great places prospective employees can work at across Canada, we’ll put one startup in the spotlight each week to find out what makes their company tick.

Right now, StackAdapt is hiring an account manager. We talked to StackAdapt co-founder and COO Vitaly Pecherskiy about the best parts of working there.

If someone were to come in to work for StackAdapt on their first day, what’s the first thing you tell them to get them excited to work there?

I personally love working at StackAdapt because the whole team is just so ambitious. We’re one of only a handful of startups at the forefront of a new-age wave of technology companies that are tackling some of the most difficult challenges in the marketing and advertising space. Everyone who joins the team understands that it’s not a nine-to-five job. Startups aren’t for everyone, but those who see the unstructured environment as an opportunity to shine and take ownership of their role will flourish at StackAdapt.

What are some company perks that people can expect when working at StackAdapt?

Everyone on the team has equity options—we work hard and share the success. We also offer full health benefits, healthy lunches on Mondays (not to mention a pretty impressive in-office snack stash), and fitness reimbursements. We all work exclusively with Mac gear (sorry PC), and a career at StackAdapt offers all employees the opportunity to become ping pong masters. Lastly, our office is conveniently located just steps away from all the restaurants and bars that Toronto’s Entertainment District has to offer. Oh, and did I mention Beer Fridays?

When working as an account manager, what kind of problems could the manager expect to tackle?

As an account manager, you’ll have big shoes to fill. As an integral part of the revenue team, your work will have a direct effect on the company’s bottom line. You will work with our biggest customers to help them grow and achieve the results they’re looking for on our platform. The native advertising and content marketing space is rapidly evolving, and this position offers an amazing opportunity to become an industry expert in the field. You’ll also be working alongside some of the brightest minds in digital media.

In what ways do you help to foster personal and/or professional growth in your team?

We love hiring curious people, and we actively push everyone on the team to grow both personally and professionally while working at the company. We’re open and flexible to hearing about the areas that our employees want to grow in, and we try to find ways to help them achieve their goals through team-wide educational sessions, classes and conferences. As a company we set very ambitious growth goals, which means that every individual within the company has to really push the boundaries of their creativity and problem-solving skills.

What’s your favourite part about working with the StackAdapt team?

My favourite part about working with the team at StackAdapt is how hungry everyone is. Like any other startup, we’re building everything from the ground up, and I love that we attract people who enjoy taking ownership over their roles, coming up with new ideas, and growing within their respective functions. I also love how supportive everyone is. We all come from very different backgrounds and have diverse strengths, and to know that I have my teammates’ shoulders to lean on when things get hectic is an awesome feeling I couldn’t get in a corporate environment.
