Startup Inspiration: ex-Groupon CEO Andrew Mason releases Hardly Workin’ album

Andrew Mason, founder and former CEO of Groupon, has released an album on iTunes that “pulls some of the most important learnings from my years at the helm of one of the fastest growing businesses in history.” Not entirely sure if this is a joke or not, but the bottom line is that there’s some solid takeaways for anyone considering getting into the startup game.

The cost is a high $9.99 and Hardly Workin’ brings the hard rock era into 2013. Mason has a degree in music and the song titles are: Look No Further, The Way to Work, My Door Is Always Open, Risin’ Above the Pack, K.I.S.S., Stretch, and it’s It’s Up to Us. Mason noted that business owners should “try ending your next all-hands meeting with “It’s Up to Us,” for example. Or, having trouble communicating with a low-per/hi-po employee? A “Thinkin’ of You” note attached to a flash drive preloaded with “My Door is Always Open” might be the catalyst you need for that transformational breakthrough.”
