Today, Startup Canada announced the regional winners and the runners-up for the second annual Startup Canada Awards.
Winners this year included recognizable names like Manitobah Mukluks from the Prairies category for the International Trade Award, Ray Walia, co-founder of Launch Academy from the West Coast and The North category for Entrepreneur Promotion, while CEO of the Waterloo Innovation Network and former Mayor of Waterloo Brenda Halloran earned herself a Lifetime Achievement Award.
“These winners are architects of a better future for Canada for entrepreneurs,” said Victoria Lennox, CEO of Startup Canada. “As champions of the entrepreneurship movement, they deserve to be celebrated to the highest degree. Thank you and congratulations to all nominees and winners for elevating the efforts, ambitions, and standards of success for the entrepreneurship community locally and across Canada.”
To celebrate, Startup Canada will be holding special grassroots events, a ceremony, and a fireside chat in communities across Canada, as part of Startup Canada’s #EveryEntrepreneur Tour, which launches October 14 in Halifax.
