NEXT Canada, a program dedicated to accelerating the growth of young entrepreneurs in Canada, is seeking applications to fill 20 spots for the Next Founders 2017 cohort.

NEXT Canada is looking for founders that can demonstrate that they have highly scalable, high-growth ideas. The program will provide founders with a network of peers facing similar challenges, access to mentors, investors, and a curriculum focused on helping businesses scale.

The Next Founders program includes interactive sessions led by Canadian entrepreneurs and leaders like Bridgit co-founder and Next 36 alumni Mallorie Brodie, LEAGUE founder Mike Serbinis, and Wealthsimple founder Mike Katchen. The program will also include masters-level courses taught by faculty from institutions like the Rotman School of Management, Harvard Business School, and MIT.

Following a founder immersion week in mid-May, the Next Founders cohort will be able to opt-in to summer programming to scale their businesses. Participants will also be able to attend networking and pitch events attended by The Next Canada community of 300 entrepreneurs and investors.

“The goal of Next Founders is simple: to help entrepreneurs scale their business through mentorship, education, and connections,” said Andrea Matheson, the interim president of NEXT Canada.

Alumni of the Next Founders program include Nymi, Blue J Legal, Eve Medical, Sampler, and #PAID.

In the past year, NEXT Canada has increased its support for emerging entrepreneurs in Canada, through initiatives like NEXT AI, a program dedicated to supporting AI companies. Recently, NEXT AI announced funding and partnerships with RBC, BDC Capital, and Scotiabank, to assist in its mission to grow Toronto as an AI hub.

Applications are being accepted online until April 10th, with the 2017 cohort starting the program in Toronto in early May. To apply, click here.
