Montreal-based Busbud announces partnership with French travel company Voyages-sncf.com

Montreal-based Busbud, which allows users to search and compare bus tickets from companies across 10,000 cities, has announced a partnership with French travel company Voyages-sncf.com.

According to a report from Cantech Letter, Voyages-sncf.com offers travel for major European carriers like OUIBUS, isilines, and Eurolines. Busbud will be its exclusive tech partner to distribute the company’s entire bus inventory through Busbud’s API. Through the partnership, Busbud can provide Voyages-sncf.com with real-time access to the status of the ticket inventory for all of the company’s carriers.

“We believe in the complementarity of the train and the bus, whether it be to increase the number of accessible destinations, create new multimodal routes or simply allow travellers to choose the cheapest, fastest or most comfortable option according to the needs of the moment,” says Busbud CEO and co-founder Louis-Philippe Maurice.

The company has raised $10 million to date, with a $1 million seed round in 2013 and $9 million raised in 2014 .
