Hexoskin Smart hits crowdfunding goal in less than a day

Two years after Hexoskin raised 166 percent of its crowdfunding goal for its “World’s First Biometric Smart Shirt”, the Montreal-based company has managed to break its own crowdfunding record by hitting its latest $50,000 crowdfunding goal in less than 24 hours. At the time of this report, they’re now at $66,723.

This time around, Hexoskin was crowdfunding for the Hexoskin Smart, a sensor-embedded smart shirt that makes their biometric shirts compatible with fitness tracking apps like Strava, Runkeeper, Runtastic, Endomondo, and MapMyRun. The shirt monitors metrics like heart rate, breathing, and movement, and the company said that it would provide “valuable insights on intensity and recovery, calories burned, fatigue level, and sleep quality.”

With the goal of replacing bulkier heart rate monitors, the Hexoskin Smart stores data in the cloud and allows its users to pair their Hexoskin to a Bluetooth Smart compatible device, such as a smartphone, tablet, GPS sports watch, or bike computer.

Indiegogo perks start at $299, which lets early adopters save $100 off the retail price.
