Listen, there’s a lot going on right now. So, as AOC was struggling with OBS so she could stream on Twitch to talk WallStreetBets, hedge funds, and class warfare, the BetaKit podcast was engaged in a war of its own: attempting to answer listener questions and make sense of these crazy times.

And yes, stonks were discussed. But we also discussed FinTech as a sector, and how business models differentiate trading platforms like Wealthsimple and Robinhood more than the underlying tech.
The perils of media manipulation were top of mind for listeners (how could they not be?), as well as a damning report from the Toronto Star underscoring the severity of Canada’s internet accessibility issues.
We also may have evaluated the star-making opportunities for various Black Swan hosts on platforms such as Twitch and Clubhouse. As I said, crazy times.
