As crowdfunding grows in popularity, it seems it was only a matter of time before organizations working in the education sector would take notice.
Heritage Education Funds, a Canadian provider of Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), is teaming up with FundRazr, a Canadian crowdfunding site to launch the Heritage eGifting program.
The Heritage eGifting Program will allow users to distribute a link to family and friends who can contribute funds towards a student’s education savings plan. “We are thrilled to see Heritage offer this groundbreaking new application of FundRazr’s crowdfunding model to their community of parents and subscribers,” said FundRazr CEO Daryl Hatton. “For the first time, and just in time for the holidays, friends and relatives will be able to safely and securely contribute a financial gift, to be directly contributed towards a Heritage RESP.”
To date, FundRazr as a platofrm has raised $74 million from 45,000 campaigns. “With this technology and the ease of use I know that digital solutions are one thing that makes our lives a little easier,” said Heritage Education Funds president and CEO Jason Maguire, “We’re the first organization in Canada that is bringing this level of service to the financial services industry and everyone who uses it will see the great value in investing into those solutions and in making a difference in a child’s life.”
