Cambridge-based eSentire has signed on former BlackBerry CFO James Yersh as its new chief administrative officer.
Yersh will be responsible for the financial functions of the business, human resources, and risk and compliance.
“James brings proven executive, financial, and operational expertise with public companies in the global technology space,” said Kerry Bailey, CEO of eSentire. “This, combined with his experience in scaling high-growth companies, will be a significant asset to eSentire as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Over his 20-year career, Yersh has led financial strategies, growth, and over 30 merger and acquisition deals. His past roles include Cognos Incorporated, and most recently executive vice president of corporate development for KORE Wireless.
During his time at BlackBerry, Yersh was part of the transition from a hardware to a software company.
eSentire provides a cybersecurity solution for mid-sized enterprises, detecting cybersecurity attacks and ensuring that companies are complying with regulation. In August 2017, the company raised $100 million.
