DMZ partners with Index Exchange to help AI startups connect with corporates

On October 16 and 17, Toronto’s DMZ and Index Exchange are hosting an event with the goal of helping AI startups connect with executives.

The ‘Collision Day’ will allow 10 AI startups to network with executives at Index Exchange, a global advertising marketplace boasting 500 employees that works with brands like Rogers and Bell Media. The company is looking for startups that could be a fit with IX Labs, a division of Index Exchange that explores new opportunities outside of its core offering using technology. IX Labs is partnering with the DMZ, the Knowledge Society, and the MaRS Discovery District on these efforts.

“Our partnership with Index Exchange for Collision Day represents an opportunity to discover new markets.”

Executives in the room will include Andrew Casale, president and CEO of Index Exchange, Neil Dorken, CFO of Index Exchange, and Andrew Wong, VP of research at Index Exchange.

“Index Exchange and the DMZ share the belief that collaboration between global companies and up-and-coming startups accelerates the rate of innovation,” said Abdullah Snobar, executive director of the DMZ. “Our partnership with Index Exchange for Collision Day represents an opportunity to discover new markets that have considerable economic potential for all stakeholders.”

Index Exchange wants to partner with AI startups on new opportunities, while startups can explore and understand new markets. During Collision Day, startups can have one-on-one meetings with the executives, potentially secure partnerships with Index Exchange, and receive direct feedback on their products.

“We are interested in meeting with companies that are building unique and novel technologies powered by different applications of AI and emerging technologies,” said Mayuran Yogarajah, distinguished engineer at Index Exchange and head of IX Labs. “IX Labs is looking to identify an intersection between your startup’s offerings with Index Exchange’s current capabilities, with the ultimate goal of further advancing the technology industry.”

Applications for the event are due on September 20.
