Blue Spurs, a Fredricton-based startup that specializes in mobile and cloud software development has acquired another local startup called Lashpoint, which is a custom software development company focusing on serving the technology needs of small to medium sized companies.
Blue Spurs also has an office in Vancouver.
A release said the acquisition combines the strengths of Blue Spurs and Lashpoint by “leveraging Blue Spurs’ Mobile and Cloud expertise with Lashpoint’s local industry experience and skills depth to deliver unparalleled application development services to its customers.”
“Lashpoint has done a fantastic job of building a successful and reputable IT services offering over the last decade. I am extremely excited about adding them to the Blue Spurs family and feel that combined we will be one of the leading IT services providers in the region” said Mike LeBlanc, Blue Spurs’ CEO.
Lashpoint has been known in the Maritimes to have worked with several startups for nearly a decade.
“The Blue Spurs team has great depth and experience in Mobile and Cloud computing,” said Lashpoint’s Sean Greenlaw. “These areas are very strategic to the growing businesses in our region. The value that our combined teams will bring to the table is tremendous and will provide another boost to Atlantic Canada’s position in the global marketplace.”
Both companies have thus far focused on providing custom designed software solutions, and have now become one of the largest privately owned software development services companies in the region.
