The Marketplace Risk Conference in San Francisco is looking to explore the challenges faced by on-demand, peer-to-peer, gig, and collaborative economy startups.
In the past, the conference has attracted attendees from companies like Airbnb, Care.com, Facebook, Dolly, Google, HomeAway, Instacart, Lyft, Rover, TaskRabbit, Uber, uShip, and Züm. Confirmed speakers so far include Care.com general counsel Elizabeth Cullen, Airbnb trust and safety operations manager Emily Gonzales, and Child Rescue Coalition president Bill Wiltse.
The conference, which takes place between May 21 to 22, features over 30 tracks that cover risk management, trust and safety, payments and fraud, compliance, regulatory and insurance, crisis management and communications, and innovation, and product and technology.
For unfunded and bootstrapped startups, the conference also offers a scholarship program with the goal of removing financial barriers by offering discounted or complimentary registration fees.
Immediately following the conference, on May 23, 2018, conference attendees are invited to join marketplaces from across the country for the launch of the Technology Marketplace Collaborative, a national industry association being formed by industry leading marketplaces.
