AppDirect, a San Francisco-based cloud service commerce platform, announced that it has acquired Montreal-based Radialpoint.
Through the acquisition, Appdirect will provide its partners with integrated support capabilities; through Radialpoint’s technology, partners will be able to sell and support cloud services leveraging Radialpoint’s technical support platform and staff.
Radialpoint, which provides sales and technical support services for brands like Telus and Virgin Media, will see its executive team and all 80 exmployees join AppDirect. Radialpoint will keep its Montreal office while president and CEO Warren Levitan will join Appdirect’s leadership team. He will also continue to lead Radialpoint.
“Both AppDirect and Radialpoint share the same mission: helping businesses and consumers be more successful with their adoption and use of the latest in technology and cloud services,” said Levitan. “By joining forces, we have an opportunity to leverage a unique combination of technology and human expertise to help our partners support and sell the latest in cloud services, and ultimately create a better customer experience.”
While Radialpoint will operate as an independent subsidiary, its technology and services — which include cloud services support for Microsoft Office 365, a cloud and IT Helpdesk, and consumer technical support for home technology — have been integrated into AppDirect’s core platform.
Though AppDirect is based in San Francisco, it has an office in Montreal and its founders, Saks and Nicolas Desmarais, are from Niagara region and Montreal respectively. So it makes sense that two of their other four past acquisitions include Calgary-based AppCarousel and Ottawa-based jBilling. The other two acquisitions including San Francisco-based Leftronic and Boulder-based Standing Cloud. Its last round was a $140 million Series E.
“Cloud services have become an essential part of running almost any business. At the same time, business owners still need real people to help them get the most out of those services,” said Daniel Saks, president and co-CEO of AppDirect. “By acquiring Radialpoint, we’re able to help our partners engage the ‘human element’ of sales and support and become trusted partners to their customers. We’re thrilled to bring the whole Radialpoint team on board to help businesses around the world find, buy and manage the cloud services they need to thrive.”
