chata.ai moves into payments space, launches business intelligence integration for Stripe

Calgary-based artificial intelligence startup chata.ai has entered the payment processing market by launching an integration with online payment platform Stripe. Using the company’s chatbot integration, Stripe users now have the ability to “just ask” for their data analysis.

Stripe users can now connect their data and do easy-to-complex natural language data analysis and reporting simply by asking chata.ai a question via type or voice-to-text. chata.ai is powered by an advanced Natural Language Understanding (NLU) engine, which allows it to dynamically answer millions of questions.

“Typical small business owners aren’t used to having this kind of access to information. Our next challenge is to educate them on the benefits of such knowledge,” said Kari Viccars, Director of Marketing & Customer Success. “For example, our customers can ask a series of queries to determine how they can become more profitable or get paid faster. This is powerful information for any small business owner.”

At the recent QuickBooks Connect conference, Intuit Canada president Jeff Cates named chata.ai as “a great example” of how to pull in data from other applications to get a fuller view of business. QuickBooks Online was the chata.ai’s first integration.

In November 2017, chata.ai announced a $2.5 million funding round from local investors. The company noted that it has additional API expansion plans underway.
