11 Waterloo-based startups participating in $5k pitch competition in Toronto

Waterloo is once again coming to Toronto. Eleven startups from Waterloo will be travelling down the 401 to participate in a $5,000 pitch event on April 9th. The prize money is provided by TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and the competition will feature startups from several notable Waterloo entrepreneurship including Velocity, GreenHouse, Conrad Centre, Accelerator Centre, and Waterloo Engineering’s Capstone projects.

The participating startups include:

– DraftingSpace
– Eye Check (winner of the $25k Velocity Fund Finals competition)
– Grobo (Winner of the $25,000 Velocity Fund Finals competition)
– MAJik (Winner of the $25,000 Velocity Fund Finals competition)
– Medella Health (Winner of the $25,000 Velocity Fund Finals competition)
– Palette (Successfully raised $158,000 on Kickstarter)
– Pout (Winner of the $25,000 Velocity Fund Finals competition)
– Suncayr (Winner of the $25,000 Velocity Fund Finals competition)
Vitameter (Winner of $35,000 at the latest Velocity Fund Finals)
– Voltera (Winner of $5,000 from the GTAN|START Competition)

The event will be taking place at the Glass Factory in Toronto at 6pm. Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo will be in attendance. In addition, judging the pitch presentations will be a number of Waterloo alumni.
