Flystro opens first online marketplace for drones

Born at the Montreal Founder Institute earlier this year, Flystro‘s mission to become the ultimate online marketplace for connecting drone operators and clients came one step closer to be realized today when the company opened its service to everyone.

The company’s platform promises to make billing and mission management easier so that drone operators can spend less time co-ordinating and more time operating. At the same time, Flystro says it makes it easier for potential clients and businesses to get the best price from a certified professional with the necessary equipment.

“Part of making drone operators successful is making clients comfortable. Drones are a new technology, one with which the law is still catching up, and will probably struggle to do for years to come,” said the company on its website.

“The applications for drones are also increasing rapidly, and it’s hard for potential clients to follow. Many are wary about adopting the technology.  There’s still a negative association with ‘drones’, particularly in the United States, as everyone associates them with Predators and other drones that have been used for surveillance and military purposes.”
