eBay Canada Announces Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

eBay Canada has announced its annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards today. Now in its 10th year, eBay sellers have a chance to add the coveted title to their store — but the voting is only on until August 17th.

To celebrate its 10th year, eBay Canada has awarded one past winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award the glorified title of “All Star Entrepreneur” for showing improved sales and determination to success.

This year, Antoine Viel of Quebec City (eBay ID: DirectMusicOnline) claimed the title. Viel earned $1 million in 2013 and has opened a second eBay store to keep up with demand.

This year, eBay has three categories in which sellers can win an award: Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Decade-preneur of the Year Award, and Up & Comer of the Year Award.

Canadians purchase more than $1 billion of goods every 12 months on eBay, and since 2012 the company has seen a dramatic uptake on buyers purchasing via their mobile device, now bringing in a reported $22 billion, representing a 70 percent increase from 2012.

“It’s the 10th anniversary of eBay’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards, and to celebrate, we’re looking to highlight innovative eBay sellers who showcase a passion and a dedication to growing their online sales,” said eBay Canada’s Andrea Stairs. “E-commerce has become an important part of Canadian business and through these awards we recognize the successful entrepreneurs that power Canada’s economy.”
