Fifteen Atlantic Canadian early-stage startups will pitch at the fall edition of Volta Cohort’s pitch event on November 28 at Kenneth C. Rowe Hall, Pier 21 in Halifax. Up to five companies will receive $25,000 in investment, mentorship, and resources.

This event marks the third intake of the Volta Cohort program, which launched last year to address the lack of investment and resources available to early-stage Atlantic Canadian technology startups.

“Startups in Atlantic Canada are developing innovative products that reach global markets,” said Jesse Rodgers, CEO of Volta. “Access to funding at an early stage can drastically reduce the challenges founders face in Atlantic Canada. Volta Cohort is helping accelerate the growth of high potential founders by providing space to collaborate with their teams, world-class mentorship opportunities and programming tailored to their needs,” said Rodgers.

The selected startups are:

  • Aurea Technologies (Halifax, NS), which is addressing the climate change crisis by creating simple, human-centric, revolutionary wind turbines for consumer and commercial markets.
  • Byos Cybersecurity (Halifax, NS), which is developing a product to monitor and protect companies’ critical resources from data leaks, security breaches, fraud, and infections.
