Vincent Mifsud steps down as ScribbleLive CEO, becomes board chair

Vincent Mifsud ScribbleLive

Vincent Mifsud has stepped down from his role as ScribbleLive’s CEO, BetaKit has learned.

In an email sent to company employees this morning, ScribbleLive announced that Mifsud will leave his operational role as CEO, effective January 12th.

According to those present during a company-wide call today, Mifsud will be departing to join a senior role at a global company with operations in Toronto, the specifics of which will be announced Monday. Mifsud will, however, assume the role of ScribbleLive’s Board Chair.

“ScribbleLive is a strong and well-established organization as a consequence of Vince’s commitment and leadership,” current Board Chair Mike Lee said in the email to employees. “We look forward to his continued experience and expertise in assisting us in our acquisitions and furthering our success in 2018 and beyond.”

BetaKit reached out to Mifsud and ScribbleLive for comment. The latter told BetKit it has nothing to add beyond what was stated in the employee email, and declined to comment on Mifsud’s future plans.

Mifsud had worked at the Toronto-based content marketing startup for five years, initially serving as the company’s CFO before being named CEO in 2014. Taking over as interim CEO will be ScribbleLive’s current CFO, Efrem Ainsley. Employees were told today that a board sub-committee has already begun the task of finding Mifsud’s successor, with Ainsley included as one of the potential targets. Ainsley will also address the company next week to answer employee questions and explain next steps.

Update: Mifsud has been named the president of Markham-based Enghouse Systems.
