Vancouver Tech Podcast Ep. 23: Lighthouse Labs

Vancouver Tech Podcast Lighthouse Labs

Drew and James open the show with a shout out to all the events that past the previous week. This week we have the lead instructor from Lighthouse Labs: Don Burks.

Don Burks has been at Lighthouse Labs since shortly after the school started in Vancouver, and was the first full-time instructor there. He has been in BC area since the late 90s. Because of that, he has a rich history on a bunch of different cities and businesses.

Before diving into Don’s impressive resumé, we chat briefly about education, the new era of boot camps, as well as the stigma coming from some of the traditional educational institutions.

If there was a competition about who is the most passionate and hardest working instructor, Don would definitely be an outstanding choice. Just listening to his story of getting started with Lighthouse Labs, it really shows how dedicated Don is to teaching others and expanding the community.

Due to the fact that Don has been in the BC area for so long, he has a great origin story. He goes into detail about his past jobs, positions, and even his own companies.
