Startupong, the annual charity ping pong tournament run by Toronto-based content marketing software company Uberflip, is returning for its fifth year.

Startupong is an annual ping pong tournament for the Toronto tech community, started five years go by Uberflip founders Randy Frisch and Yoav Schwartz. The ping pong games, taking place June 19, will happen inside Uberflip headquarter. The event’s goal is to raise funds for SickKids, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Foundation. Past participants have included members from Wattpad, Checkout51, Freshbooks, and Influitive.
“We’re proud of what Startupong has become and the impact that it’s had in connecting the tech startup community here in Toronto,” said Schwartz, the CEO and co-founder of Uberflip. “As our company continues to grow, we recognize that we have a responsibility to our community and we are committed to giving back.”
Startup Pong aims to bring the tech community together to compete in some friendly (but fiercely competitive) ping pong, connect with people in tech, and raise funds for SickKids. Last year, the event raised $50,000 for the SickKids Foundation and this year’s goal is to match that donation. Uberflip stated that it has raised $30,000 so far.

In order to compete in the ping pong tournament, participants must register a team for $300, with all proceeds going to SickKids. Registration is limited to one team per company, to ensure as many companies as possible can participate. The event also offers sponsorship options, with a $1,250 package that includes a team in the tournament, Startup Pong shirts, and more.
General admission tickets to Startupong’s outdoor celebration are free. Each ticket will include games, snacks, music, and two drink tickets per person. There will be options to purchase additional food and drink items, and make donations as well.
